DESIGN FOR WOMEN

Throughout the past one hundred years, the Maytag brand's suite of quality and dependable appliances has grown to include many new and innovative products. For its 100th anniversary Maytag wanted to create a retrospective exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of its first washing machine.
Bing Creative, in partnership with Kubik, was commissioned to design Maytag’s 100th Anniversary Retrospective “Evolution of Laundry” Exhibit showcasing the evolution of laundry through domestic scenes representing four different laundry eras from 1907 to the present.
The exhibit featured high-impact graphic murals combined with historical memorabilia to recreate these domestic scenes along with three vintage Maytag wringer washers from the 1920s, 1930s and 1960s. In each scene visitors were reminded of Maytag’s innovations, along with the major social, political and cultural events specific to that era.
The exhibit was displayed in Toronto’s Eaton Centre. Over the course of three days, more than 2,000 consumers visited the exhibit and entered for a chance to win a new Maytag Centennial Laundry Pair.
